The 2026 Crossfire Bullriding season roared to life in Dauphin this past weekend. PBR Dauphin saw rank bulls, outstanding rides, and an explosive crowd, culminating in a 2-for-2 preformance from the Brazilian cowboy, Gilmar Santana.

Round one saw completed rides from Trinity Bear, Francisco Costa, Gilmar Santana, and Cody Coverchuk's double entry. Taking the top spot of the round was the number 4 cowboy, Marshall Senger, thanks to his 84.5 point ride on LASB Scooby Snacks. This young rider has been on a tear lately, recently winning the Moose Jaw PBR Challenge earlier in the year and coming directly off a well-placed event in Melfort SK, the night before.
"That's just a good ol' bull... I saw a couple videos of him, figured we'd match up well, like we did."
Marshall Senger commenting on LASB Scooby Snacks
The novice riders didn't have as much luck, however. We witnessed near successes from accomplished riders like Loel Fisk, Jett Lockie, and Zandar Kummer, but none were able to make the 8-second buzzer.
Into round two, there was no slowing down. Cody Coverchuck managed to cover one of his bulls, but on his original entry, not his double entry. This means that while he rode two bulls during the event, the scores were counted separately. Also in round two, Aaron Roy rode his first of the night, scoring 85.3 and Tyler Craig scored the event-high 85.5.
However, it was the second last ride of the night where Gilmar Santana cemented his win. He matched up against X6R Into the Fray, a rematch from Melfort the night before, and stood victorious once again. He was scored 83.9 points, bumping his total score on the night to 169.2, and earning him the event title.

Congratulations to Gilmar and to all the riders. We continue the season with the next stops in Grunthal and MacGregor, MB in 2 weeks! See the full schedule here.
