Kahl Wasliow Claims His Second Crossfire Bullriding Event Win

On August 1st, in Midale SK, the D&P Moon Operating Bull Bash & Cabaret, presented by the Midale Rodeo Association kicked off a string of 5 Crossfire Bullriding events happening throughout the month of August. The competition was fierce, with riders vying for points to qualify for the the BRC National Finals at the end of the season.

The first round got off to a great start, with number 1 BRC rider Jeremy Maisonneuve from Val-des-Monts, QC, setting the bar high with a 79.5-point ride on SBB's Black Gold. Kahl Wasilow from Maple Creek, SK, followed with an impressive 84-point ride on MVB's Route 66, taking the top spot. Jerson Arantes from Brazil put on a strong show with an 80-point ride on RKO's Calm Like a Bomb, securing second place for the round. Jeremy Maisonneuve followed up with his second entry, scoring 78 points on MVB's Gold Coast. The crowd was entertained by the thrilling rides, and the addition of mutton busting, wild pony racing, and the antics of entertainer Mike Wyatt added to the excitement.

As the sun began to set and the arena lights came to life, the atmosphere in the arena became electric for the 'pick-your-poison' championship round, where riders got to choose the bulls they would compete on. Early in the round, Westen Wade from Sylvan Lake, AB, landed a solid 77-point ride on SBB's Cool Shivers. The night's excitement peaked when Kahl Wasilow took to the arena, the final ride of the night, and conqured RKO's How High for an impressive 87 points. This ride earned him the Ride of the Night title, the event trophy, $3,300 cash, and 200 points towards the BRC standings.
With Kahl's impressive performance, he's solidified his position as a top contender in the BRC, especially when it comes to Crossfire Bullriding events! As the tour continues through August, it will be exciting to see how these riders stack up against each other in the coming events.
