PBR Canada returned to Dauphin this past week and brought along the best bulls and riders in the nation. Chief among them was the number 1 ranked PBR Canada rider - Jake Gardner from Fort St. John, British Columbia. Jake has been on a hot streak lately, with his most recent PBR win just a few weeks before in Brooks, AB.

However, Jake wasn't the only rider at the top of the standings to test his mettle in Dauphin. Both Cody Coverchuk and last-year's winner Dakota Buttar, who are currently in a close race for 2nd place, were eyeing the points that a first place win would award them. Along with many other of the best riders to be found in Canada, the event was stacked with talent on sides of the arena.

Round 1 saw amazing rides from Jake, Dakota, Ashton Sahil, and more, including PBR newcomer Rafael Parra from Brazil. However, it was Cody Coverchuk who landed first in the round thanks to his 86-point ride aboard Night Fury from Skori Bucking Bulls.

Cody's shot at the trophy would not last however as he was thrown from X6 Ranch's Blue Nerve in the Championship round. This would leave room for Jake Gardner to prove why he's on top as he beat the buzzer on the back of Patiently Waiting from Skori Bucking Bulls. Jake was awarded the event-high 86 points for his effort.

Thanks to this ride and his earlier success, Jake took home the trophy, the cash prize, and 56.67 national points, cementing his spot at the top of the leader boards.
